John Snow College Boat Club

John Snow Boat Club is a positive and inclusive club which fosters an environment where both members who have rowed at a high level as well as those who have never stepped in a boat before are able to thrive.
We regularly compete within the Northeast including at Durham Regatta where recently both of our Women’s singles beat their competition to make it a JSBC vs JSBC final! We also travel across the country to compete at large events such as Women’s Eights Head of the River with much success. JSBC races in a range of crew sizes from singles to eights, and we are looking forward to competing in our brand new double and four.
For those new to rowing we have a thriving novice programme, where you can learn the basics of the sport with our experienced rowers. Last year we hosted a former Olympic rower to coach new members both on ergs, in the tank and on the river.
We host many socials throughout the year from our typical Wednesday night fancy dress bar crawl to pasta bonding nights as well as our annual boat club ball! We are looking forward to meeting and welcoming all new members!!
