Trevelyan College Boat Club (TCBC) offers a competitive yet friendly rowing environment welcoming all abilities, from total beginners to experienced rowers and coxes. We mainly compete in VIII+ and IV+, however, we own a single and a double and would be happy to rig up more sculling boats if we had the demand. Over the years TCBC has enjoyed great success and we pride ourselves on commitment, hard work, and inclusiveness. We have taken boats to the Women and Men’s Head of the River, Henley, BUCS and more! This past year our women’s 1st VIII+ took home ‘Fastest Durham College Women’s 8+’ at Rutherford Head and they won the ‘Most Committed Crew’ at the DCR awards. For new rowers we have an exciting novice development programme where students can learn to row in a safe, friendly, and fun environment. We also offer both competitive and casual rowing opportunities to cater for all experience levels and time commitment. Off the water, we host erg (rowing machine) sessions that are optional to attend but are great to build technique and fitness. Finally, a big part of TCBC’s team spirit is our socials that are guaranteed to be fun for both drinkers and non-drinkers. Our signature event is the ‘Bash on the Bish’, our annual fundraiser boat party.
