Collingwood College

Collingwood College Boat Club

Established in 1981, CCBC is the largest college boat club on the Wear and consistently the most successful, attributable to both incoming experienced rowers and the home-grown talent that comes through our novice development programme. As such we cater to rowers and coxes of all skill levels, from absolute beginners through to Henley qualifiers!

While our competitive edge and intensive training programmes make us the envy of all college boat clubs, there is also a lot to say for casual rowing at Collingwood.

At CCBC we offer a tiered system for training, which allows us to cater to our fiercely competitive crews that push for daily training; to crews that would still like to be competitive but can’t commit quite as much time; and to casual rowers who can enjoy our widely renowned social scene while still logging some relaxed miles on the STRAVA on a weekend.

While I won’t bore you by listing our many accomplishments (like being the fastest college boat club, placing 101st at HoRR, repeatedly qualifying for Henley, winning an international regatta in France and being the current holders of the DCR Senate Cup) feel free to check them out on our Instagram (@ccbc_durham).

CCBC has brought me so many friendships and highlights through my time at uni (as a student-led boat club even offering opportunities to bulk up my CV!), so I strongly urge anyone from Collingwood to give rowing a chance and get in touch with us over social media, or at the Collingwood Sports Fair. Feel free to direct any questions to me at the email below.
